Dr. Tetsumei Urano is Vice President of Hamamatsu University School of Medicine in Hamamatsu, Japan. He has served as a professor of the Department of Medical Physiology at the university since 1991.

Dr. Urano received his Doctor of Medical Science from Hamamatsu University School of Medicine in Japan and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Notre Dame University (USA). He also served as a visiting scientist for two esteemed laboratories sponsored by the Japanese government.

He has authored and/or reviewed nearly 200 medical peer-reviewed articles and publications. In addition, he is a current council member of the Japanese Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis and serves on the editorial board of the Japanese Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis.
