Dr. Henry Ddungu is a hematology consultant at the Uganda Cancer Institute in Kampala, Uganda. He received his Master of Internal Medicine from Makerere University in Uganda. Currently, Dr. Ddungu is a PhD candidate at the Makerere University School of Medicine. Throughout his career, he has focused on providing palliative care access throughout Africa.

In subsequent studies, Dr. Ddungu graduated from a clinical fellowship in hematology at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada, in 2005. Since then, he has served at McMaster University as both an honorary visiting lecturer and adjunct assistant clinical professor. In addition, Dr. Ddungu has conducted post-graduate training at The Pain and Policy Studies Group at the University of Wisconsin, Institute for Palliative Care Medicine at San Diego Hospice, and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

He is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the International Association for Hospice and Palliative Care. He is also an editorial team member for the Journal of Palliative Care Association of Uganda.
