For the last 25 years, Dr. Blanco has headed the Haemostasis Division at the National Academy of Medicine in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She received her PhD in clinical biochemistry at the School of Pharmacy and Biochemistry at the University of Buenos Aires. In 2013, Dr. Blanco was named President of the Haemostasis and Thrombosis Latin American Group and has also held this same position for the Haemostasis and Thrombosis Argentine Group and for the Haemostasis Division for the Argentine Association of Biochemistry. Last year, she received the award for 'career achievement' from the Haemostasis and Thrombosis Argentine Group. In 2013, Dr. Blanco became a member of the Outreach and Education Committee for the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, and has been a lecturer at the Educational Courses in Latin America for over 15 years.
